AS/400-iSeries Extensions

PBSI frequently works with its customers to bring their legacy and Windows software together by extending the applications running on the iSeries; and, developing Windows and Web applications. PBSI works with its clients to extend their legacy applications while providing their users with a modern and intuitive computer experience as well bringing a new skill set to their iSeries staff.

The Windows and Internet environment, and the latest programming languages available in .NET, can bring legacy systems into the 21st century by providing modern Web/Windows-based interfaces. PBSI extends iSeries applications using a low risk, high reward technical approach that provides a more robust system using Windows and Web Services capabilities. PBSI has worked with its clients to design and develop iSeries extensions using .NET languages such as C#, VB .NET, and AVR for .NET.

The end result is a robust, modern, and intuitive application running on the Windows platform with an iSeries application and database providing data processing support. The advantage to this approach is to harness the performance capabilities of the iSeries, while taking advantage of the power of Windows and .NET.

"Platform extension enables our customers to benefit from the availability of .NET technology in a phased approach which minimizes the disruption to our customer's organization."

Senior Technical Architect - R&D, PBSI
